The history of SAMAG begins with the founding of the company Reissmann and the establishment of the company Auerbach & Scheibe. With the construction of the Saalfeld railway junction in the second half of the 19th century, workshops evolved into factories: mechanical engineering companies, forges, and foundries. The factory owners Reissmann, Auerbach, Scheibe, Irmischer, and Schaede have already gained high recognition both domestically and internationally with their high-quality products. Saalfeld in Thuringia thus established itself as a mechanical engineering location and remains so to this day.

After reunification, the era of SAMAG begins. Special machines and machining centers are developed and built, series production for the automotive industry commences, and subsidiary companies are acquired. As SAMAG GROUP, the Thuringian company establishes itself as a solid, international, reliable solution provider and an innovative development partner in the field of mechanical engineering and automotive.
